lol, that's certainly a strong turnaround of an opinion. To answer the initial question, no, re:Dreamer is not a "going to school simulator." It is a largely linear visual novel with many small variant branches based on the C.H.E.A.T.S. system to add variety to that largely linear story and to change context for why and how things happen. The campus setting is important, but the structure and flow of the visual novel will befocusing on important events of the sixth main months of the story through time skips to certain set pieces (such as a Halloween costume party, home visits, a Christmas Eve date, a spring break trip, and extracurricular activities); providing supplemental context for the setting, those events, and the major characters via the World Information entries; and a brief epilogue for each route that ends shortly after Zach/Zoey graduates to show what has happened in their life after the re:Dreamer season has ended (and they have likely not changed back) and to provide a glimpse of what the rest of their life is going to be like now that they are an adult. Classes are focused on for the Friday intro day (Zach's last day as Zach), the following Monday (Zach's first day of classes as Zoey), and the briefly in the following Friday (to contrast the difference of the routine that Zach had with the routine that Zoey has). With exceptions given to the first day of classes of the second semester and a potentially compromising transformation in early November that will make maintaining Zoey's disguise as Zach harder, they will otherwise not be focused on in the story of this visual novel.
Honestly, the barrier to entry is too high. I spent half an hour in the game and its still entirely internal monologue about mundane stuff. Just the main character talking about how awesome they are at everything and a bunch of useless information on a variety of subjects. Theres like 6 paragraphs about coffee. It could really use alot of trimming.
It is slightly dense, but Zach is the narrator of the game and that's just how he thinks and talks. He's also not awesome at everything. He's largely puffing himself up with his few genuine skills to feel better because he's lonely and miserable and how much he wishes he wasn't the way he is. The Awkwardness stat shortens the narration and makes the overall game less verbose, so consider cranking that to 1 or 2 for a more "streamlined" read (even if this game's character is how excessively you get inside Zach's head).
Would be awesome if there was someway to influence the character creation. I vastly prefer smaller tits- is a shame because otherwise I love everything about this game but tits bigger than her head kind of ruin it for me :(
Fun fact: Zoey's sprite artist messed up her breast size ages ago by making them H-Cups when they were supposed to be DD-Cups. My producer and I tried to get him to shrink them, but he didn't really understand what we were asking (he's Indonesia, and while he knows English, it's maybe fair to say that he doesn't fully understand it at times) and made them even larger in one revision, and we ran out of revisions and patience. I do agree that they're a bit too big, but this game takes a detailed look at what the logistical issues involved with someone suddenly changing the sex of their body and having to hide it and a sort of "buyer's remorse" for Zach to a degree as he might have thought about being a woman but not the consequences of being one, and the breasts being so big draws attention to both.
Every major route (Britney, Keisuke, Rich) is planned for about 20-25 hours of reading (Rich on the short end of that, Britney in the middle, Keisuke on the long end of that).
Currently, Britney is about... 6 to 8 hours? It's hard to get an accurate length without just turning on auto read and timing it because C.H.E.A.T.S. makes (word count * average English reading speed of 250 WPM) estimations impossible from the micro branches everywhere in the script.
The re:Dreamer in-VN game takes place over 6 months (October 7 2022 to April 6 2023) but there's an epilogue for each route I don't want to get into spoilers here as that was not what was asked, but it will use time skips to very briefly cover the rest of what happens at the 3.5 years of college for Zach (or Zoey) and the route partner, a little after graduation, and setting the stage and tone for what this character's life is going to be like from now on and their trajectory into the future.
If you do want to heavily spoil yourself for Keisuke route, this outline and this outline show an excessively detailed plan over the main game and the epilogue which you could use as the framework for understanding how Britney's route would be presented over that same period of time.

Do you have an errors or traceback file in the game folder you can post for me to help you diagnosis this? If not, try to delete the game folder and reinstall it (don't worry; saves are stored in your appdata folder and won't be deleted)
It should be able to work with the itch app to only download changed files, but due to how the game files are archived, you might end up redownloading a decent portion of the game.

If you want to weigh in on which placeholder art should be replaced first, there's an active poll on the game's Patreon page about exactly that subject. For an example of the art style we're targeting, the shower sex scenes with Keisuke and the measuring scene with Britney were commissioned for this game and are uncensored.
During the female friend route, the first night they "get together" it says we can't see it because the art for it isn't done... Will you be adding that so we can replay the first night they stay together?

Any censored art is placeholder art in the processed of being replaced with new art. All final art is uncensored.
Wait, is this the game I used to play back when it still using Koikatsu? The Keisuke's route first cutscene still look the same.
Koikatsu is not used and has never been used for any assets in this game, but some of the art is "borrowed" placeholder art in the process of being replaced. The game did just get a massive update to Keisuke's first CGs with new and replacement art, but that update is not public yet (but will be in about 2 months).
